Giba
Gunyah Country Cottages
Terms and Conditions – 2005
We are a small family operated business dedicated to making sure that
all your expectations of your stay at Giba Gunyah are fully met or
exceeded.
These terms and conditions are designed to make it quite clear, when
you do book accommodation with us, the responsibilities we both have.
We provide exceptional accommodation in a wonderful environment and we
want you to fully understand the nature of your commitment particularly
concerning cancellations.
So ... do please read the following material carefully.
Deposits
Accommodation can be reserved by paying a deposit or by payment in
full. In either case the booking is confirmed as soon as the electronic
payment is recorded through our netbank system or your cheque is banked
and debited to our account. The minimum deposit is the equivalent in
Australian Dollars of one full night's accommodation or twenty five
percent of your total accommodation costs whichever is the greater.
This deposit is normally non-refundable. Depending on the
circumstances of your cancellation request, however, the deposit may,
at our sole discretion, be transferred to another time or refunded in
part or in full.
Payment
Payments may be made electronically, by cheque or money order. Please
note that a booking cannot be confirmed until the funds are deposited
to our account through electronic transfer or your cheque is cleared.
We will provide net-banking details when necessary.
Your final payment may be made at any time and in any event no later
than the day of your arrival.
An invoice to a third party for payment of deposits or final payment
will not be issued without prior agreement between us and on the
understanding that the accommodation booking will not be confirmed
until full payment is made. Payment for "extras" such as meals provided
at Giba Gunyah or "third party" expenditure by us on your behalf during
your stay is expected to be made by cash, card or cheque prior to
departure.
Refunds
If a cancellation is received more that one month prior to the
commencement of your stay any excess monies paid over and above the
minimum non-refundable deposit will be repaid to you. If a cancellation
is received inside this period there will be no refund unless we are
able to re-let the accommodation, in which case the amount of the
non-refundable deposit will be deducted from any monies returned to
you. If you cancel by default - without notice - all monies paid by you
will be retained by us. If, without prior notice, you spend less time
with us than you booked, either because you arrive after the scheduled
date of your stay or you leave early, the full cost of the entire stay
is payable.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in time is normally 2 pm though an earlier time may be arranged
depending on the level of bookings at the time. Similarly check-out
time is 10 am with a later time possible by agreement. A half-day rate is
available by negotiation if you choose to stay beyond noon and the room is
not required that evening.
Pets
If you are accompanied by your pet at Giba Gunyah it is essential that
you bring your own pet bedding as this is the best way to ensure that
your pet is stress free during their stay with us. While pets are very
welcome and fenced gardens are provided for their enjoyment it is
important for owners to take full responsibility for the safety of their
pets. A list of leash-free areas are included on the web site and in the
cottage documentation.
-
Dogs and
cats, are allowed in the living areas of the cottages, but not on the
furniture or in the bedrooms.
-
Pinewood Cottage has separate wood shed for sleeping if your dog is an
outside dog. The Stone Cottage has a covered verandah.
-
Dogs may be
left in gardens if you wish to go sightseeing without them, and are sure
they won’t fret.
-
Dogs are
not to be left inside the cottages on their own.
-
Please
remove droppings from gardens before you depart.
Smoking
The cottages at Giba Gunyah are "non-smoking". Smoking is permitted on
the verandahs at the Cottages. Ash-trays are readily available at all
properties, so please ask for them.
Minimum Booking Periods
At key holiday periods during the year a minimum booking period applies.
For example, there is a minimum three-evening booking required at Easter
and at all other long or holiday weekends.
A 5 night minimum stay applies at Christmas from 23-27 December and over
the New Year.
Accidental Damage
and Breakage
No one is more tolerant of accidental breakages (glassware, crockery etc)
than we are. In a sense, its part of "being on holiday". Damage to
furnishings and fittings may well be something else and we reserve the
right to charge guests with the costs of replacement, repair or otherwise
bringing furnishings and fittings back to the extremely high standard we
have set. Indeed it is a condition of occupancy of the Cottage, that
guests both report any breakages and/or damage to furnishings and
fittings on departure and that they "make good" those items that would
leave the Cottages at a lesser standard than when they arrived.
Children
Children are particularly welcome at Giba Gunyah though we do expect
parents to ensure that their children look after the cottages in a way
that leaves them in as good a shape after the visit as when they arrived.
In the interests of the safety of children staying with us and their
enjoyment of the facilities we provide, it is important that parents know
that we regard children of all ages are the direct responsibility of the
parents in their use and enjoyment of the properties; this will involve a
close following of any instructions provided by John and Ros, or other
caretakers, at the time of their visit.
Bed Linen and other Items
The Cottages come fully equipped and all that guests need to bring with
them is their clothes and something to eat for lunch and dinner. Laundry
facilities are available if needed and a good laundrette is available in
Bega.
Thank you, Ros and John
